Overview

LearnIt Systems is currently seeking Special EducationTeachers, Behavior Technicians, paraprofessionals and classroom aides to work in our Oklahoma based programs for the 2017-18 school year.   Experience in working with children with emotional and behavioral needs is preferred but not mandated.  We offer extensive training, support and a highly competitive salary/benefits package. In addition, we are offering sign on bonuses to teachers and classroom support staff.  

 

LearnIt Systems is a private special provider who partners with school districts throughout the state of Oklahoma (current openings in Tulsa area) to provide programs and services to students with a wide range of disabilities that includes: Autism (A), Emotional Disability (ED), Mild Intellectual Disability (MIID), Moderate Intellectual Disability (MOID), Other Health Impaired (OHI), Specific Learning Disability (SLD), and Speech-Language Impairment (SLI).

 

All Learn It programs utilize a unique and highly-structured school-wide Positive Behavioral Supports program to improve our student’s academic, communication, independent living and social skills. Responsibilities

Special Education Teachers work in a school-based setting and are responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an individual instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success in accordance with policies.

  • Develop and implement student Individual Education Plans.
  • Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. 
  • Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
  • Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
  • Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.

Qualifications

  • Valid Oklahoma Special Education Certification(Cross Categorical or Mild/Moderate)
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 1 year of experience working with students with emotional disabilities preferred.
  • Spanish speaking a plus.  Not required.
